Year 4- Badgers Class

Hello from Badgers class.
In January we will have another exciting term planned with lots of great learning opportunities including our trip to Hill End for an Anglo-Saxons day. This will consolidate all the learning we have done about the Anglo Saxons.
Maths: Seven times tables & patterns, understanding & manipulating multiplicative relationships. coordinates.
English: The Explorer by Katherine Rundell
This book is about four children stranded in the Amazon Jungle and having to rely on their wits and teamwork to survive and find their way home. Whilst studying the book children will be able to gain the skills of prediction and inference, looking closely at language and word choices as well as undertaking some drama. The children will be exposed to a range of writing genres like diary writing, setting descriptions and instruction writing.

PSHE: Health & Wellbeing: Safety & The Changing Body
RE: Is a Holy journey necessary for believers?
French: Presenting Myself
PE: Problem Solving - Monday and Wednesday - children to come into school in PE kits. Trainers blue school jumper, plain white t shirt and black shorts, joggers or leggings.
Art: Fabrics of nature
Music: We will be continuing with ukulele lessons which the children are really enjoying. They have been learning about different note lengths and names as well as chords.
Computing: Creating Media: Website Design
Spellings: Weekly spellings will be given out on a Friday for children to learn for a test the following Friday. In class we also spend two sessions looking at the spelling patterns as well as undertaking spelling activities.
TT Rockstars: Children should log on to their TT rockstars account regularly to help improve their fluency.
We are really looking forward to another exciting term in Year 4.
