Maths: Right Angles, Securing Mental Calculation and beginning Column addition
English: Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
This book, adapted by Real reads for children, is a great introduction to a classic tale. We will be using it as a reading text and writing stimulus this term. Whilst studying the book children will be able to develop the skills of prediction and inference, looking closely at language and word choices as well as undertaking some drama. The children will explore a range of themes and writing genres in the text, including creating their own diary entry in role.
Science: Forces and Magnets
PE: Tuesdays and Fridays - children need to be in School PE kits.
PE kit Reminder: Trainers, a blue school jumper, plain white t-shirt and black shorts, joggers or leggings.

Music: Pentatonic melodies for Chinese New Year and developing our singing techniques with some Viking songs.
Computing: Exploring Emailing
Spellings: Weekly spellings are given out on a Friday for children to learn for a test the following Friday. In class we also spend two sessions looking at the spelling patterns. Use Read, Say, Cover, Write, Check at home to practise.
